I think that the people that leave negative reviews do so because they were not up to the challenges of working in behavioral health and they did not like being held accountable, Meridian expects it's employees to give a 100%.

Management is very client centered and supportive of the staff and patients, especially with all of the issues with Covid the last couple of years. Meridian works hard in helping all of the patients to be successful but I really appreciate the efforts we make in trying extra hard with helping the more challenging patients, the rewards of seeing that transformation is amazing. I love working with the patients and I have a lot of fun with my coworkers. I received tuition reimbursement and management was very supportive of me during my period of working while trying to finish college. I started out working as a recovery specialist/tech while I was finishing college and went on to complete my internship at Meridian prior to stepping into the counselor position. I have been a counselor at Meridian for 3 years. Over time you find that you stay for the clients, because they are what make it all worth it, but you really would like to leave because you don’t feel as though the support from upper management is there. The staff that has stuck around are averaging 80 hours of work per week, with days off here and there (it’s good if you like to having something to do and keep yourself occupied, bad if you want to have a life outside of the work place). This is a highly stressful environment- between the management and daily client needs (these are vulnerable adults and you are responsible for all of their needs!). Staff turnover rate is very high due to understaffing and overworking- as well as not feeling as though compensation is satisfactory for the work you take on. Training wasn’t done well so you are thrown into the job with no sense of knowing what you’re doing- be prepared to figure it out yourself. If you need resources to do your job they will drag their feet trying to get it to you. Meridian Behavioral Health provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or genetics. There is a sense of fulfillment working with the clients, and they are very appreciative of your hard work (they will tell you!). Our licensed and experienced staff takes the role of coach/teacher, providing support and encouragement from the heart. Many have been through our program personally and know what it takes to get back on that road to recovery – and stay there. We owe our success to the passion, commitment and expertise of our staff.
